Range for this position is $152,300.00-$186,100.00 annually. The
full Pay Range is $118,200.00 - $220,200.00 annually. At BECU,
compensation decisions are determined using factors such as
relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training.
Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual
qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives
are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also

time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up

Engineer at BECU, you will play a pivotal role in executing our
enterprise data strategy, leveraging your extensive expertise in
data management to develop scalable, secure, and efficient data
solutions. You will enhance DevOps processes by integrating testing
and scanning procedures and contribute to the design and
development of robust data pipelines with high standards of quality
and governance. Additionally, you will empower data analysts and
data scientists by ensuring data standards are upheld. By
collaborating with cybersecurity and architecture teams, you will
ensure the adoption of best practices to stay ahead of
technological advancements. Your role will be crucial in advancing
our data platform with AI and ML capabilities.To join our dynamic
team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX,
SC and GA. f you're located in Washington state and within a
reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that
you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.For those candidates
that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our
approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or
onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and
included in our collaborative environment.WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Drive Data Strategy and Governance: Lead data engineering teams
to implement enterprise-wide data solutions, ensuring data
integrity, governance, and metadata management are maintained.
- Implement Cloud and DevOps Solutions: Develop Infrastructure as
Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and ARM/Bicep to provision
and manage cloud resources. Additionally, support continuous
integration and delivery processes, while incorporating log
management and security and vulnerability scanning
- Optimize Data Pipelines: Design, build, and deploy highly
available and scalable data pipelines using technologies like
Databricks, Snowflake, and Synapse, ensuring compatibility with
various databases.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with cybersecurity and
architecture teams to align data practices with security standards
and evolving technologies.
- Mentor and Drive Initiatives: Guide and mentor data engineering
teams in the design, development, and testing of complex data
workflows, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Present and Communicate Solutions: Present technical topics and
data solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders,
driving the adoption of innovative approaches.
- Prototype and Innovate: Design prototypes, proofs of concept,
and solutions that leverage AI, ML, and advanced analytics to drive
business value.
- Establish Data Standards: Create guidelines for data curation,
master data management, and metadata integration into workflows,
ensuring consistency and quality across the organization.
- Document and Standardize Processes: Develop comprehensive
documentation for data workflows, infrastructure as code, and
automated pipelines, ensuring transparency and knowledge
sharing.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Innovate and integrate new data
technologies and methodologies to enhance data workflows, reducing
friction and optimizing efficiency.This isn't just about ticking

strategy.QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or
equivalent work experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in data engineering.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices,
demonstrating proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps,
GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools
like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with coding languages such as
Python, Scala, Java, SQL, and Spark.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google
Cloud.
- Knowledge of modern data platforms, distributed processing
(e.g., Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Expertise in ETL/ELT processes, SQL, data modeling, and data
warehousing.
- Experience with cloud-based integration tools and security best
practices for data handling.Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in data governance, metadata
management, and master data management using tools like Alation,
Erwin, and Azure Purview.
- Strong presentation skills with experience addressing both
technical and non-technical audiences.
- Expertise in version control (e.g., Git Flow, Trunk-Based
Development) and performing code reviews.
- Deep understanding of Test-Driven Development, including unit,
integration, and performance testing.
- Ability to design scalable data solutions throughout the data
lifecycle, from ideation to implementation.
- Experience with AI/ML integration and data analytics.
- Proven leadership in mentoring and guiding junior team
members.
- Availability to work full-time with additional hours as
