Job Description:
A company is looking for a Financial Counselor.
Key Responsibilities
Interviews uninsured/under-insured patients to determine
eligibility for Medicaid or financial assistance programs
Provides customer service and verifies benefits while maintaining
accurate documentation in the workflow system
Communicates with hospital gatekeepers and ensures timely billing
or adjustment processing for submitted applications
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Associates preferred
1-2 years of healthcare experience preferred
Understanding of admission, billing, payments, and denials
Knowledge of patient insurance processes and medical
terminology
Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance and call
center experience highly preferred
